Welcome to SIM Insight, developed and maintained by Tamizha Apps. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our application accesses and handles information on your device.
SIM Insight is a utility application designed to display your device's SIM card information, network details, signal strength, data usage statistics, Wi-Fi information, and device hardware specifications. The app also provides network speed testing and USSD shortcut functionality.
This Privacy Policy explains what information our app accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. By installing and using SIM Insight, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Access
SIM Insight accesses certain device information solely to display it to you within the app. Below is a comprehensive list of the data categories the app reads:

SIM Insight requires the following Android permissions to function. Each permission is used strictly for the purpose described below and nothing else:
4. How We Use Information
All device information accessed by SIM Insight is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Display to You: Showing your SIM card details, signal strength, network information, data usage, Wi-Fi details, and device specifications within the app interface.
- Speed Testing: Performing network speed tests by downloading and uploading test data to measure your connection speed. Speed test results are saved locally on your device for your reference.
- USSD Shortcuts: Launching carrier-specific USSD codes through your device's dialer for balance checks, data pack information, and other carrier services.
- Customer Care: Dialing carrier customer care numbers through your device's phone app when you tap the customer care button.
- Share Feature: When you use the share feature, the app compiles your SIM information into a text format and uses your device's native share sheet. The shared content is controlled entirely by you.
- Copy to Clipboard: When you tap "Copy" on any data field, the value is copied to your device's clipboard for your convenience.
We do NOT use your information for:
- Transmitting personal data to external servers
- User profiling, tracking, or analytics (beyond ad-network analytics — see Section 6)
- Selling, renting, or sharing data with any third parties
- Creating user accounts or storing data in the cloud
- Location tracking or geofencing
5. Data Storage & Security
SIM Insight is designed with a local-first, privacy-focused architecture:
- No Remote Servers: We do not operate any servers. The app has no backend, no database, and no cloud storage. All processing happens on your device.
- Local Storage Only: Minimal data is stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences for app settings (e.g., auto-refresh interval) and speed test history (last 5 results). This data is stored in your device's app-specific storage.
- Automatic Deletion: All locally stored data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the app. You can also clear the app's data at any time through Android Settings → Apps → SIM Insight → Storage → Clear Data.
- No Encryption Required: Since no sensitive data is transmitted over the internet (other than speed test traffic to measure speed), and all personal data remains on-device, the risk of data breach from our app is minimal.
- IMEI Masking: As an additional privacy measure, the IMEI displayed in the app is partially masked (last 7 digits replaced with 'X') to prevent accidental exposure when sharing screenshots.
6. Third-Party Services
SIM Insight integrates the following third-party services:
a) Google AdMob (by Google LLC)
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements (native ads and interstitial ads) within the app. AdMob may collect certain information as described in Google's privacy policy, including:
- Device advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
- IP address
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Approximate location (based on IP address)
- App usage data and interaction with ads

b) Cloudflare Speed Test Endpoints
The speed test feature connects to Cloudflare's public speed test servers to measure download and upload speeds. This involves downloading and uploading test data packets. c) Google Fonts
The app uses Google Fonts (Outfit, JetBrains Mono) which are bundled with the app at build time. No runtime font downloads or Google Fonts API calls are made.
7. Advertising
SIM Insight is a free application supported by advertising revenue. The app displays the following types of advertisements:
- Native Ads: Advertisements that are styled to match the visual design of the app. These appear within the content flow of each screen, designed to provide a non-intrusive experience.
- Interstitial Ads: Full-screen advertisements that appear at natural transition points within the app (e.g., between screen navigation). These ads include a close button and can be dismissed.
Ads are served by Google AdMob. The ad content is determined by Google based on various factors and is not controlled by Tamizha Apps.
Your Ad Choices:
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's advertising settings: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- You can reset your advertising ID at any time through the same settings menu.
8. Children's Privacy
SIM Insight is a general-purpose utility application and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
The app accesses device-level information (SIM details, device specifications) which is displayed locally and not transmitted. However, the app does display third-party advertisements served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers as described in Section 6.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used this application, please note that no personal data is collected or stored by us. For concerns about data collected by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's policies for children: Google Ads Policy.
9. Your Rights & Choices
You have full control over the information SIM Insight accesses:
- Deny Permissions: You can deny any permission when prompted. The app will continue to function with reduced features, showing "Unavailable" for data that requires the denied permission.
- Revoke Permissions: You can revoke previously granted permissions at any time through Android Settings → Apps → SIM Insight → Permissions.
- Clear Local Data: Go to Android Settings → Apps → SIM Insight → Storage → Clear Data to erase all locally stored data including speed test history and settings.
- Opt Out of Ad Personalization: Adjust your advertising preferences in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your device completely.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features, applicable laws, or our practices. When we make changes:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
- For significant changes, we will provide notice through an in-app notification or a prominent notice on this page.
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
