Introduction
Tamizha Apps ("we", "our", or "us") built Light Meter Pro — Lux Meter (the "App") as a free, ad-supported Android application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
By installing and using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be upfront — our App is designed with a privacy-first approach. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.

We have no user accounts, no sign-in, no cloud storage, no analytics servers, and no tracking infrastructure. Your measurement data never leaves your device.

- No user accounts or registration required
- No usage analytics or behavioral tracking by us
- No data is sold to third parties by us
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores certain data locally on your device only to provide its core functionality. This data is never transmitted to any server.

You can delete all locally stored data at any time through the App's Settings → Data → Clear All History option, or by uninstalling the App.
Camera & Sensor Access
The App uses your device's hardware sensors to measure light intensity. Here is how each permission is used:
📷 Camera Permission
The camera is used exclusively for reflective light measurement and color temperature estimation. No images or video are captured, stored, recorded, or transmitted. The camera feed is processed in real-time to calculate light intensity values and is immediately discarded. Camera access is optional — the App works fully with just the ambient light sensor.
💡 Ambient Light Sensor
The App reads your device's built-in ambient light sensor to measure illuminance in Lux and Foot-candle units. This is the primary measurement method and requires no special permission. Sensor data is processed locally and is not transmitted anywhere.
🌐 Internet Permission
Internet access is required solely for loading advertisements through Google AdMob. The App's core measurement features work completely offline without any internet connection.

📢 Google AdMob
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain data as described in Google's privacy policy, including device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data. This data collection is governed by Google's own privacy practices and is outside our control.

We do not use any other third-party analytics, crash reporting, or tracking services.
Data Sharing & Transfer
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any user data to any third party.
The only data shared externally is through Google AdMob as described above, which is necessary for the free ad-supported model of the App. You may purchase the in-app "Remove Ads" option to disable all advertising and the associated data collection by AdMob.
User-Initiated Data Sharing
The App provides export features that allow you to voluntarily share your measurement data:
- Export measurements as CSV files
- Generate and share PDF reports
- Share heatmap images
- Share comparison results
- Backup and restore data as JSON files
These actions are entirely initiated by you and use your device's standard sharing functionality. We have no access to the files you share or the recipients you choose.
Children's Privacy
The App is rated for ages 3+ and is a general utility tool. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App does not collect personal information from any user, there is no special children's data concern. The advertisements served through AdMob are managed by Google and are subject to Google's own content policies.
Data Security
Since all measurement data is stored locally on your device using a private SQLite database, it is protected by your device's built-in security mechanisms (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not transmit data over any network, so there is no risk of data interception during transfer. We recommend keeping your device's operating system updated and using a screen lock to protect your data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Effective" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
