Data Created & Stored Locally on Your Device
- Flashcard decks, card content (front text, back text, notes)
- Images and audio recordings attached to flashcards
- Memorization levels, study progress, and test scores
- App preferences and settings (language, TTS speed, reminders)
- Backup files created at your request
Data Collected Automatically by Third-Party Services
- Advertising identifiers and anonymized usage data collected by Google AdMob for serving relevant advertisements
- Anonymous crash reports and performance diagnostics to help us improve app stability
- General device information (device model, operating system version, screen resolution) for ad delivery and crash analysis
How We Use Information
All flashcard content you create — including text, images, audio recordings, study progress, and test results — remains entirely on your device. We do not access, transmit, or process this content on any external server.
Information usage summary:
- Your study data — Used solely on-device to power features like memorization tracking, test scoring, study statistics, auto-play, and TTS playback
- Advertising data — Used by Google AdMob to display ads within the app and to measure ad performance. You may see personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your device settings and consent preferences
- Crash & performance data — Used exclusively to identify and fix bugs, improve app performance, and enhance reliability
Third-Party Services
Flashcard Maker integrates the following third-party services. Each service operates under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review:

- Google Text-to-Speech Engine — Processes text locally on your device to generate spoken audio. Text is not sent to external servers when using the on-device TTS engine

Data Storage & Security
All user-created content is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database within the app's private storage area. Media files (images and audio recordings) are saved in the app's internal directory, which is not accessible to other applications.
- Local storage only — No cloud sync, no server-side storage, no remote databases
- Backup files — Created only at your explicit request and saved to a location you choose on your device. Backup files are not uploaded anywhere automatically
- CSV exports — Generated locally and shared only through your chosen sharing method (email, file manager, messaging apps)
- Uninstallation — Removing the app from your device permanently deletes all locally stored flashcard data, study history, settings, and media files
Device Permissions
Flashcard Maker requests certain device permissions to enable its features. Each permission is used strictly for the purposes described below and nothing else:
- Camera — Used only to capture photos that you attach to flashcard fronts or backs. Photos are saved locally and never transmitted externally
- Microphone — Used only to record audio clips attached to flashcards and for speech recognition during pronunciation practice. Recordings are stored locally on your device
- Storage / Media Access — Used to pick images from your device gallery for flashcard attachments, and to save/load CSV files and backup files
- Internet — Required exclusively for loading and displaying advertisements via Google AdMob. Your flashcard data is never transmitted over the network
- Notifications — Used to deliver local study reminders that you configure within the app. No push notifications are sent from external servers
- Vibration — Used for subtle haptic feedback during quiz interactions (correct/incorrect answer responses)
- Boot Completed — Used solely to reschedule your study reminder notifications after a device restart
All permissions are requested at runtime with clear explanations before access is granted. You can revoke any permission at any time through your device's system settings.
Children's Privacy
Flashcard Maker is rated for all ages (3+) and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). The app does not require registration, and all content is user-generated and stored locally.
Advertisements displayed within the app are served by Google AdMob. If you believe your child has provided personal information through the ad services, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the concern.
We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's app usage and to review device-level privacy settings for advertising and data collection.
